The Cambridge Heart Clinic puts patients first.
We provide a safe, friendly and comfortable environment for patients and their families at what we recognise is a vulnerable time in their lives. Our services are designed and delivered to suit the patient never forgetting that each person is individual and has specific emotional as well as clinical needs.
The Cambridge Heart Clinic is a partnership between Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and an independent company called Regent’s Park Heart Clinics Ltd.
Regent’s Park is the fastest growing cardiology services provider in the UK with a track record of developing joint ventures with some of the very best hospitals in the NHS. Regent’s Park has worked in partnership with Addenbrooke’s Hospital since 2006 delivering invasive cardiology services and is creating a network of world-class centres for the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease around the country.

Our partnership
Cambridge Heart Clinic is a formal partnership between Cambridge University Hospitals Foundation Trust and an independent company called Regent’s Park Healthcare. The partnership between the two organisations’ ensures that private patients receive the best-of-both-worlds: world-class specialist care and the very highest standard of service, together with the confidence of being in the NHS with its safety-net of services on hand. It also allows profits from the treatment of private patients to be re-invested back into frontline NHS care.
The partnership is registered as Cambridge Heart Clinic LLP, company number OC 414702.
Regent’s Park Healthcare (RPH) is the UK’s leading independent cardiac services company. RPH has been developing innovative service solutions in partnership with NHS hospital cardiac departments since 2002. The company owes its name to the London Business School in Regent’s Park where it was first founded in a business incubator unit in 1999. The company is a highly specialist organisation with expertise in the development, financing and operation of cardiology and cardiovascular services. Fifteen years on, the company has built an integrated national platform which currently operates cardiology services across 42 NHS hospitals, employs over 150 staff, and which has delivered over 100,000 cardiology procedures.

Care Quality Commission
The Cambridge Heart Clinic is fully registered as an acute private hospital by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and bound by the Health and Social Care Act 2008. The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care, hospitals and nursing homes. We received our CQC registration in August 2018, and our Provider ID is 1-120823913.
BUPA Quality Accreditation
BUPA healthcare quality inspectors have inspected the Camrbdige Heart Clinic and been awarded healthcare quality accreditation. This means the Cambridge Heart Clinic is recognised by BUPA as a cardiac centre across its network of facilities. Cambridge Heart Clinic is also accredited by all the other major and minor private medical insurance companies.
Medical Advisory Committee
The Cambridge Heart Clinic has a Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) to ensure we achieve and maintain medical excellence across all our services.
All medical practitioners at the Cambridge Heart Clinic are part of the MAC which offers guidance and advice on all areas of clinical practice and meets at regular quarterly intervals through the course of the year. The MAC has a robust clinical governance strategy with appointed leads for clinical governance and clinical audit.
Clinical Outcomes
The Camridge Heart Clinic is proud of the quality of healthcare it provides and its outcome data. As part of our ongoing commitment to quality standards in healthcare, we contribute to various databases including; The Private Healthcare Information Network, National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death and National Institute for Cardiovascular Outcomes Research.
We also support external quality benchmarking from the following societies: British Cardiovascular Intervention Society, British Society of Echocardiography and British Cardiovascular Society.
